Find Out More About ME

Welcome to Prost Schatz! I'm so happy you're here!

A little bit about me: I'm obessed with my puppy, Barley. I'm German and am therefore required to drink lots of beer (at least that's my excuse). I'm married to a funny guy named Matt. We spend a lot of our free time "DIY'ing" our 1977 rambler. I like food. Like, a lot. Want to know what else I do besides code? Check out my Etsy shop: Prost Schatz!

So, Why Web development and design?

I currently work as a microbiologist, and frankly am BORED. I work in a high profile hospital and still find myself feeling like I'm doing the same thing day in and day out. I'm desperate for a change. My younger sister pushed me in the direction of web development and coding. I've been doing some online modules and LOVE it. I'm hoping to continue to learn and eventually commit to a complete career change. I feel like my experience as a microbiologist has given me important skills to help me be the best coder I can be; critical thinking, complex problem solving, and multi-tasking skills. I'm SO excited to be starting on this new adventure, even at the age of 28!

I love talking to people and I look forward to immersing myself in a culture that cultivates creativity. I feel like my previous work as a microbiologist has given me the analytical and problem solving capabilities to be a good coder. One of my chief complaints with the medical field is lack of flexibility and creativity. I look forward to a new career where I can stretch myself and and be involved with a team as well as clients to produce a new and unique product. I also love learning and am excited to be entering a field that is continually evolving that I can constantly be learning and improving my work and knowledge base.
